Landscapes as Portraits is an intimate, ongoing series dedicated to my grandfather, Dave Knouse, with whom I share a name. Although he passed away before I discovered my passion for photography, his presence is deeply felt through these images. Each landscape in the series represents different aspects of the home where my grandmother now lives alone. Her small figure, almost swallowed by the vastness of the surroundings, is a poignant symbol of loss and solitude. Through these landscapes, I aim to honor my grandfather’s memory and explore the quiet resilience of those left behind.
